Being socially responsible means that people and organisations must behave ethically and with sensitivity toward social, cultural, economic and environmental issues. Striving for social responsibility helps individuals, organisations and governments have a positive impact on development, business and society with a positive contribution to bottom-line results.
AfyaCare strongly believes that responsibility is an area of strategic focus for our company. We believe in helping the less fortunate in our society and especially in the poor developing countries. We have identified several areas in poor countries that we can have an impact on and the following are some of the projects we have done:
- We provided funding to Ndung’u Njenga High School in Limuru, Kenya to help build a new classroom block
- We donated 600 boxes of latex gloves to seven dispensaries and health clinics in rural Kenya
- We are helping put a new roof on a rural hospital near Lusaka, Zambia
We are continually looking for the most needy projects especially in Africa. If you have any suggestions on areas we can help, please feel free to contact us.
